Buying and Selling
The primary trade currency used by the Coalition of Planets is called credits. Credits were first introduced to the star cluster by the Terran Republic. The societal structure of the Aeyan, Erelan, and T’avian civilizations did not necessitate an official currency. Most trade was achieved through the barter of goods, services, and favours. Most people now use credits as a currency, with the Traders and Commerce Guild in charge of regulating credits values.
During roleplay moments, credits are the primary method in which characters conduct trade. However, your ability to complete the transaction has less to do with any amount of credits you may have and more to do with:
- How well you roll during the interaction,
- The target’s disposition, and
- What’s the most interesting outcome for the narrative.
Normal items and cyberware do not provide a direct gameplay benefit, and so do not directly impact your character’s power levels. Also, while there isn’t a limit to how many items you can carry, you should respect your characters’ physical limits. You can have as many consumables as you want, though those items are removed from your inventory after use.
The purchase of Legendary Items and Legendary Cyberware should be considered a significant event in your character’s journey—a goal you strive to accomplish over an extended period of time. You should also consider any Legendary Items and Legendary Cyberware you already own to be permanent fixtures of your inventory as it should be nearly impossible to find someone willing to buy Legendary Items or Legendary Cyberware under normal circumstances.
